Cyrus Viccaji is a media consultant, content creator and educator with a background in Improvisational comedy, filmmaking and photography. In all his work, he has explored his passion for shooting and editing hands-on whenever possible.He graduated from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, focusing on Design, filmmaking and photography and went on to work for Pakistan’s first English Language news channel where produced a number of documentaries including a 13 episode feature on Art and Culture.He went on to work as an independent director for two prime series with singer/ philanthropist Shezad Roy for Pakistan’s biggest news and entertainment network, GEO TV.He is featured in the credits of a BBC documentary called 'Diffusing Human Bombs' for his videography, and was an Associate Producer for a 4 part live debate show for BBC Media Action, and consultant/collaborator on an International Feature Length Documentary; Abdus Salam: The First ****** Nobel Laureate, on Netflix.His current portfolio includes a number of local and multinational clients like British Council Pakistan, and Adam Smith International, for whom he has worked as a specialist in communications media for Education in Punjab and Khyber Pakhthunkhwa. He is a registered Media Consultant with Karachi Press Club.As an educator, Cyrus has designed and taught courses at the Aga Khan University on photography. He has also been a juror for Graduate Film Theses for Karachi University’s Department of Visual Arts for two consecutive years. He was juror for the Graphic Design thesis at his alma mater in 2014, and was nominated member on the advisory committee for the ‘Diploma in Digital Film and Video’ there.He moved to Sri Lanka in Jan 2017 and began a continuation of his private practice in Pakistan under the name of Protege Media Private Limited, of which he is Managing Director. He also created Improv Island and began training a troupe of performers. He has currently taken a step back from his Media Consultancy work to focus more on his work as an educator and creating more personal content with Improv Island.He is now also a visiting lecturer at the Academy Of Design in Sri Lanka and a member of faculty for the Motion Graphics Animation bachelor's degree, awarded by Northumbria University, UK.
