Bowel cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia, claiming around 5,000 lives each year. The good news is that if detected early, up to 90% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated.The Jodi Lee Foundation was established in 2010, in honour of Jodi Lee, to save lives through increasing awareness and encouraging early detection of bowel cancer.The Foundation's mission is to eliminate bowel cancer in Australia by motivating people to be proactive about preventing bowel cancer - screening regularly, acting quickly on symptoms, knowing your family history and leading a healthy and active lifestyle must just save your life.Through the Foundations Corporate Bowel Screening Program over 5,000 screening tests have already been distributed. It is an easy and effective program that can be run through any office.

Key responsibilities include public presentations to Government representatives, building professional networks with key stakeholders, organising fund raising events, developing key policies for best practice, tactfully debunking cultural myths and enhancing awareness throughout Samoa of the causes and preventative measures for cancer by school and village presentations. Further, ad-hoc responsibilities include the Society’s graphic design, public statements, social network strategy, photography and video- editing for promotional purposes. Further initiated Samoa's "Pinktober" cancer awareness month for women's health in October.

Primarily responsible for liaising with both government and non-government stakeholders, performing analytical demographic and epidemiological quantitative research, facilitating qualitative focus groups and developing current resources for the Health Service for its future targeted initiatives.
