- Lead multiple bioinfo & SW teams for molecular applications (infectious disease, NIPT, oncology, Avenio, Kapa reagent, CLIA lab) and new sequencing platform development

- Oversee Oncology bioinformatics research & development at Illumina, including tissue biopsy, liquid biopsy, CDx programs, pharma collaboration, biomarker discovery.- Lead TSO500 bioinfo development, CEVID & IVD submission.

- Lead DRAGEN biomarker development - TMB, MSI, HLA, HRD etc- Lead bioinfo validation studies for CovidSeq FDA submission - the first FDA EUA approval for NGS based Covid19 detection (plus mutation detection and consensus genome generation). The test is broadly used for virus lineage tracking.- Hired and managed a team of ~20 bioinfo scientists

- Three times Illumina Value Award for major contributions to tissue and liquid biopsy product development and academia collaborations- Bioinfo lead for TruSight Oncology 500 RUO and IVD development - a 500+ gene panel to enable targeted therapy and immuno-oncology related applications (RUO launched in Jan 2019)- Bioinfo lead for TruSight UMI toolkit - ultra sensitive variant detection in ctDNA samples (product launched in April 2018)

-Algorithm and pipeline development for Illumina's ctDNA assay-Key contributor for TruSight Tumor 170 (development of tumor only FFPE CNV calling, execution of DVT studies, etc)

-Main developer for genome wide microdeletion (>=5Mb) detection in NIPT (first ever commercial test on market)-Designed a suite of algorithms that extended MaterniT21™ PLUS test to cover 6 additional microdeletion syndromes (product launched in October 2013)-Bioinformatics support for NGS data normalization and interpretation-Drafted 4 patent applications and published 4 high impact journal articles

-Developed a classification pipeline for high throughput protein biomarker discoveries-Developed a Java tool for peptide quantification using extract ion chromatograms. Reduced computation time by up to 10 fold compared to vendor software-Modeled cell line's gene expression dynamics after drug treatment using high throughput green fluorescent protein technology-Developed a novel time series data alignment algorithm to identify mechanistic similarities among anti-cancer drugs. The algorithm achieved 97% accuracy under real experimental conditions

-Identified potential biomarkers for patients at high risks for colon cancer using microarray gene expression data-Established the theoretical relationship between prior biological knowledge and the accuracy of classification results-Developed a method to detect master genes in Bayesian networks and successfully applied the method to real biological networks
