I love creative comms. I hate corporate jargon. Here are six things about me.1) I’ve created communications campaigns for several politicians, boosting their brand, promoting small businesses, and helping communities. From business awards to promoting policy change, video design to speech writing, I am passionate about every aspect of comms and experienced in all types of campaigns.2) One of my videos was viewed by over 1.1 million people on TikTok alone.3) After watching the press officer in my first political job, I knew comms was for me. At that point, I had no press experience, few digital skills, and little idea where to begin. After a sojourn in academia, and a lot of procrastinating with design software, I squirmed into my first comms job.4) My current and last employer promoted me in the first year.5) I’m happiest designing graphics, editing videos, and drafting social media posts. It’s my passion. Here’s a secret—those posts that seem unscripted and raw, a lot of work goes into them. 6) If it’s not digital design, then it’s words. That should be my epitaph. Give me a column to draft, a story to place, or a blog post to promote and you’ll make me happy. I also edit and design two literary magazines in my spare time. I live for this stuff.

My responsibilities included proofreading and copy-editing journal articles, chapters, and dissertations for Swedish academics and PhD candidates at Uppsala University's department of history. That required knowledge of the technical jargon used in various historiographical sub-disciplines.In all cases, I was tasked with transforming the writing into excellent copy that communicated clearly and persuasively in an appropriate tone for an academic audience.
