As a science teacher at Summit Academy Charter School, I create a positive classroom culture and guide scholars to master science and hone their social-emotional skills. I use Barron's Regents materials, Workman Publishing's "Everything you need to ace.." series and educational technology to provide visual and digital support for my students. I also serve as a private tutor for three middle school students, helping them with homework, planning, studying, and IEP support.In the last two years, I have had the opportunity to be a "Mentor Teacher" to incoming professionals providing support to our students. This includes navigating lesson planning, delivering instruction, navigating educational software, working with small groups, and providing material.I have a BA in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Lincoln University, where I developed my attention to detail, communication, and media skills. I also have experience in project management, marketing, and curriculum development from my previous roles as a science teacher at Explore Schools and a summer camp coordinator. I am passionate about learning and growing in communities, and I aspire to inspire my students and colleagues to do the same.
