I try to live by the motto ‘We can always do better’, and fulfill my interest in learning new and new-to-me biological techniques to improve data gathering and analysis. A good day includes going home mentally exhausted from learning a whole new way of thinking about a problem. I look forward to improving myself, learn how to manage people in a better way, and work to complete complicated or big picture tasks. My nearly eight years of experience across multiple aspects of natural resource management has included: Arc GIS mapping, water quality monitoring, grant writing and procurement, fisheries data gathering and analysis, and report writing. This experience has been supplemented by my educational background, where I completed my M.S. in Marine System Science at the University of Glasgow working in Scotland and Egypt, in the Red Sea, and B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Redlands. In my free time I enjoy planning and taking trips with my wife to domestic and foreign locals. Most recently we were able to travel to Thailand and Vietnam. I hope to fill up my passport. When not traveling I try to find new recipes and ways to improve my cooking skills to impress said wife. I've been fixating on Trifles at the moment, but plan on finding new recipes from a German cookbook.
