About Célestin Brewaeys
After graduating in Ghent in ‘biochemistry – brewery technology’ I decided to follow my first dream, which was traveling a unknown destination on my own which I did in the summer of 2015. (Southeast Asia) I was convinced that I would work for a brewery for the rest of my life but I got the opportunity to work in a grain processing factory which processed grains to food aid products for WFP, Unicef and the Red Cross. During my time working in this company I got really interested in functional foods and how to combine minerals and vitamins to create functional food. This interest led me to my former work situation at Medix Laboratoires which is a private label manufacturer of food supplements and sports nutrition, where I worked as quality manager and purchase manager. While working on improvement processes and new performing audits I got fascinated about trends, innovation and sustainability. That’s why I decided to go back to school and attend the postgraduate education ‘trend analysis and implementation’ at Hogent. I learned about trend spotting and analysis, innovation and brainstorm tools, scenario creation and trend implementation in current business. I now believe that great quality products can only be achieved if you combine classic quality managing systems with trends and innovation. The perception of quality is changing and you can only understand this perception if you understand the never ending evolving basic needs and expectations of society and the impact created by innovation and disruptors. This is the same for purchasing, it is impossible to buy if you do not understand the supply chain and the ongoing trends.
Listed skills include Bartending, Production Management, Biochemistry, Immunology, and 47 others.
