As a Ph.D. candidate in information science at Cornell University and Cornell Tech, I conduct research on information manipulation and how to counter it, especially in the age of generative AI. I am co-advised by Prof. Will Hobbs and Prof. Mor Naaman. I have applied my knowledge and skills to address challenges around responsible AI issues at Microsoft, where I worked as a data and applied scientist for three summer internships. I evaluated the measurement and mitigation of representational fairness harms, assessed the approach of using LLM-generated synthetic data for responsible AI, and developed a new evaluation framework for restricted use scenarios like worker performance and inference of sensitive attributes. I am a self-claimed knowledge explorer and a fundamental question for me is how new digital technologies are changing people's perceptions and behaviors, and our society.
