Hr Specialist
Current Partners with various levels of management to understand business objectives and identify corresponding human resource needs; implements strategies to support various business objectives and improve programs to support employee retention. Collaborate with Unit Operations to identify and understand workforce needs; responsible for recruiting union hourly employees and assisting with recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions. Primary point of contact for employee relations to investigate, mediate, and resolve employee disputes and grievances within the unit. Provide counseling/training for unit management in the areas of labor and employee relations, EEOC, ADA, affirmative action and discrimination. Provide policy interpretation and ensure accurate and consistent application of all company policies and procedures, related local/state/federal laws, and applicable collective bargaining agreement. Administer company Leave of Absence programs which include personal leave of absences, Family Medical Leave (FMLA), and medical leave of absence. Maintain employee personnel files, bulletin boards, recruiting tracker, exit interview tracker, attendance system, and disciplinary action log. Assist with the on-boarding of new hires, which includes orientation, I-9 verification, and HRIS data entry. Complete weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc HR reports accurately and in a timely manner.
