- Design housings, heat spreaders, and submounts for several product lines of semiconductor lasers and modulators using Computer Aided Design (Solidworks, ProE, AutoCAD), GD&T, FEA, and which improved device efficiency, profit margins, and manufacturability of each respective product.- Consult and communicate with internal manufacturing groups regarding production tooling and efficiency. - Designed and assemble tooling / fixtures for microelectromechanical vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL) for scaling up production. These fixtures eliminate bottlenecks in production, allowing more VCSELs to be produced at a faster rate - Design tooling for wafer and laser chip fabrication machines that improved the yield of chips from each wafer which saved time and money - Review and update manufacturing processes to make production more efficient - Confer with customers about specific design and cost needs for their products, engineered new designs according to customer requirements- Communicate with external vendors to ensure that ordered parts meet quality and cost standards.
