Daniel is passionate about water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) system in rural areas, household water treatment practice/behaviour, the sustainability of WASH services, drinking water quality at the household level, and public health issue in general.Daniel studied chemistry in Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia and continued his master in IHE Delft, specialized in the field of Environmental science and technology. Daniel worked in the collaboration project between IHE Delft and the Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental Science and Technology-EAWAG, Switzerland for his thesis project in rural Mid and far-Western Nepal. He then obtained his doctoral degree from TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, Department of Water Management. As part of his project, he conducts fieldwork in rural areas in Indonesia in 2018-2020. Daniel is open to any collaboration.
