As Substation Commissioning Engineer with TRC Solutions I provide overall project planning, coordination and supervision of construction, commissioning and testing activities to traditional open-air and modern GIS substations consisting power transformers rated 50MVA to 120MVA, and voltages from 4kV to 500kV. Scope of the utility projects varies replacing or modifying power transformers, reactors, capacitor banks, disconnect switches, CCVT, circuit breakers, bus and cables, switchgears, control racks and panels. I review substation project plans and schedule for constructability, ensure construction, commissioning and testing activities compliance with plans and specifications. I take a lead role in resolving construction problems, procedures, and methods through working with the customer and TRC’s engineering personnel, inspectors, contractors, and suppliers. I prepare, implement outage and energization plans, and detailed commissioning plans. I institute, direct and document changes to the work when required by differing site conditions. I am responsible of maintaining accurate construction drawings, promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record keeping

• Reconstruct oil and gas storage facility which was damaged by hurricane Sandy. Implement reverse engineering and value engineering principles with a design basis approach to build new facility.

• Develop power system and study one-line diagram with Easy Power or SKM for power analyses. Conduct short circuit, arc flash, coordination and device evaluation study and generate a power system analyses report for existing and design projects.

• Utilized AutoCAD software, engineering principles and NEC and NYC Electrical Code verification to complete the design and construction of power system projects.

• Identify, test and replace power cables for amplifiers and other optical equipment to support laser shots and testing.

• Assist electricians to implement electrical construction drawings to install electrical cables above and below grade using cable tray, conduits and underground cable canal for industrial projects.
