I designed two difference Excel documents for the company; the first is a document that designers can use in the field to generate a legally binding bid sheet for customer to sign in-home if they desire. The sheet was designed to be simple and requires minimum attention from the designer as to not take time away from the customer. The second document allows for installers to choose what materials they would need for a particular customer through a series of drop down menus and automatically generate filled-out order sheets that can then be sent to our various vendors. This reduced our ordering time of materials from approximately 45-60 minutes to approximately 5 minutes. Also reduced errors that were being made when it came to ordering cabinet door hinges as the system takes the information that was put into it and tells the installer what specs to manufacture cabinet doors to for accurate installment.
