About David Miller, Ph.D.
I’m a researcher at American Institutes for Researcher, focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. I earned my Ph.D. in psychology at Northwestern University in June 2018, and my dissertation analyzed nationally representative longitudinal datasets to study transitions into and out of STEM. Before Northwestern, I earned my B.S. in Mathematical Physics from Harvey Mudd College and then pursued science education research through UC Berkeley’s Technology Enhanced Learning in Science (TELS) Center. I further strengthened my data skills through University of Chicago’s Eric and Wendy Schmidt Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship by working on a machine learning project to improve student success in high school. My research has received national and international media attention in outlets such as Chicago Tribune, Nature, Science, The Guardian, U.S. News, and Yahoo News.
