VICE-PRESIDENT (Reading Memorial High School) June 2010 – Aug. 2016Elected Vice-President by the teachers of Reading Memorial High School. Worked successfully with teachers and administrators to resolve disputes and grievances. Twice appointed co-chair of collective bargaining team and successfully negotiated teacher contracts for 2011-2014 and 2014-2017.

APPOINTED COMMITTEE MEMBER March 2009 – April 2011Appointed by the Town Moderator to a three-year term to serve on a 5-member committee that reviews and reports on all warrant articles that would, if adopted, amend the Town Charter or affect the bylaws of the Town of Dracut. Assisted in providing oversight of Town Meeting business and the regular review of all Town of Dracut bylaws. I resigned before the expiration of my term because I moved to the City of Methuen.

ELECTED REGIONAL SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER May 1997-May 2009School Board Chairman, 2003-2004Actively participated in the planning and oversight of $26+ Million Budget. Assisted in the selection of two superintendents and other school administrators. Negotiated numerous contracts through the collective bargaining process. Worked cooperatively with school administrators and union officials to resolve grievances and conflicts. Chaired Policy Subcommittee, which reviewed and revised school district policies and procedures.

ELECTED SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER May 2005 – May 2008School Board Vice-Chairman, 2007-2008Served as member and Chairman of the Finance Sub-Committee to review, plan, and provide oversight of $28+ Million Budget. Negotiated collective bargaining contracts for teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and office personnel. Led the selection process for new district superintendent. Chaired Policy Subcommittee, which reviewed and revised school district policies and procedures. Served as Chairman of the Capital Planning Sub-Committee in order to plan and propose improvements and long-term building projects for Dracut Schools.
