As Senior Editor of a major translation company, I was responsible for editing and checking translations and proofs for a wide range of organisations. My specialist clients included Shelter Cymru, Cardiff University, National Savings and Investments, Heritage Lottery Fund and Amnesty International. I liaised with these and other clients on a regular basis in order to discuss specific requirements and queries, and to feedback on progress, maintaining professional confidentiality at all times. Part of my responsibilities included formulating the company's house style and working on terminological lexicons in collaboration with authors and clients. I also mentored translators and feedback information on progress and work requirements, liaising with the translation co-ordinator on time scales and prioritisation in order to ensure that work is consistently achieved to the highest standard.

Working closely with other academics, I was responsible for transcribing, tagging and editing prose texts for the Welsh Prose 1350-1425 website. At the onset of the project, I was jointly responsible for establishing guidelines and procedures for the new project, which would employ additional staff. In partnership, I established and organised the 'Electrifying the Text' forums, with the aim of sharing and developing methodology for working with electronic texts and promoting a bilingual discussion on terminology. I also taught courses and modules at both BA and MA level, giving papers on various research aspects in Cardiff, London and Aberystwyth and undertook external work on the panel of the Vernam Hull Memorial Prize for the Board of Celtic Studies.

My research for the History of the Development of the Welsh Language project during this period enabled me to spend periods of time transcribing prose texts and working on manuscripts and consulting specialist colleagues at the British Library in London, the National Library of Wales, and Trinity College library at Cambridge University. I also gave a presentation on my research work to staff and students of the Department of Celtic Studies at St John's College, Cambridge. As a member of the research project's national committee, I presented regular written reports on my work, and detailed information at the national meetings. I also planned the methodology and costs for a successful research project application to the AHRC. During this period I authored a critical edition of the Early Welsh prose text Treigl y Marchog Crwydrad (The Voyage of the Wandering Knight), which was published by the University of Wales Press in 2002, winning the Vernam Hull Memorial Prize of the Board of Celtic Studies in 2003. In addition, I authored various articles published in periodicals such as Llen Cymru and The National Library of Wales Journal, and contributed text for a CD-ROM published by the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. I also taught a specially commissioned reading course for undergraduate students at Cardiff University.
