Current• Responsible for the welding of metal fabricated parts by various processes which include; SMAW (stick utilizing 7018 1/8, 3/32, 6010, 6011 1/8, 3/32), FCAW (flux core arc welding utilizing 1/16/0.45 and LN-7 3/32), GMAW (gas metal arc welding)• Responsible for welding various processes and positions ( Flat 1G, Horizontal 2G, Vertical 3G, Overhead 4G) with both single and multiple passes within a shipbuilding environment• Responsible for the operating and adjusting of welding machines… Show more • Responsible for the welding of metal fabricated parts by various processes which include; SMAW (stick utilizing 7018 1/8, 3/32, 6010, 6011 1/8, 3/32), FCAW (flux core arc welding utilizing 1/16/0.45 and LN-7 3/32), GMAW (gas metal arc welding)• Responsible for welding various processes and positions ( Flat 1G, Horizontal 2G, Vertical 3G, Overhead 4G) with both single and multiple passes within a shipbuilding environment• Responsible for the operating and adjusting of welding machines in the performance of Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW) and Tungsten Arc Weld (TIG) processes• Perform Arc Gouging• B-GTAW for open root procedure in the 6G position• Perform welding duties, including any preparation of site and materials • Carry out general fabrication and repair work that requires welding, torch cutting and burning operations as required• Capable of welding water tight penetrations and performing pickup repairs and basic weld wraps and familiar with footage rates and weld bead sizes• Special projects included: Newport News Industrial Corporation Commercial Nuclear project utilizing E91T-1, GM-H4-0.45, Cone Crane Project, 2 Norfolk Naval Shipyard Caisson, Newport News Shipbuilding Caissons, Norfolk Naval Base Pilothouse, Concord Dam, and Colonna’s Shipyard Barge Show less
