Hi, my name is Devansh. I am highly enthusiastic about physics and mathematics. As a kid, I remember watching The Cosmos by Carl Sagan and the newer version by Neil DeGrasse Tyson and being truly amazed by the beauty of the Universe beyond the Earth. At that point I did not think much about it but continued to watch the show for the splendid graphics. When it came to picking a degree, I wanted something that can challenge my logical reasoning and build on my interest in mathematics. I ended up picking astrophysics. It was everything I expected it to be, except one. I find it to lacking in technology. As a result, I started studying computer science. I am currently studying in a concurrent degree in Bachelors of Computer Science (Advanced) and Bachelors of Science (Space Science and Astrophysics).I have the problem solving ability of a physicist and tech knowledge of a software engineer. I feel like I have found the right middle ground in what I enjoy. I plan to work as a Software Engineer. I have had a chance to work within the industry during an internship as a backend software engineer at Atlassian. I am currently working at the same role on a part time basis. In my role as a software engineering intern, I work with a software engineering team to solve real life problems that have impact on customer’s life.During my time there I have learnt a lot of skills such as Agile methodologies, Java capabilities, git and much more. I also have a firm knowledge in C++, python, full stack development and MATLAB. Aside from technology I have learnt how to work as a team member, have good communication skill, taking responsibility for your actions as well as having problem solving things that can be applied in real world applications.
