Production Engineer
CurrentCreate and evaluate process plans and production preparation plans for new wheel manufacturing processes. Assess risks via PFMEA. Create and evaluate process flow, layout, work combination, and equipment specs. Troubleshoot and diagnose daily production and quality problems, monitoring ongoing data and making systemic process improvements. Conduct studies to determine causes of wheel runout exceeding specs. I implemented Fourier Analysis to decompose wheel/rim/disc runout measurements into component harmonics to pinpoint the primary causes/processes contributing to the runout. Time studies of process cycle times to identify bottlenecks and reduce throughput time. Modify existing equipment, tooling, and/or process designs (using CAD) to improve safety, quality, and/or productivity (drive lean manufacturing). Oversee automated weld inspection software recipes for products. Participate and guide the design, construction and installation of new tools and equipment. Initiate purchase orders and supervise supplier selection process for sourcing of tools and equipment. I support the die set team in this function.
