I have over 28 years of experience as a certified police officer, starting in October of 1995. Within my career I have been assigned to the Investigations Bureau for a total of 12 years . I am currently the Lieutenant in charge of the Investigations Bureau where I supervise 3 sergeants and 12 detectives: 7 detectives, one of which is an intelligence analyst, 2 school resource officers, and 3 detectives assigned to various federal and local task forces (FBI-JTTF, DEA, SONIC). Prior to my current assignment I was a Detective Sergeant for 2.5 years. Before that I was a detective for 9 years from 2002-2011 and a patrol officer for a total of 15 years from 10-'95 - 5-'02 & 5-'11-3-'19. As a patrol officer I was selected as a Field Training Officer and was also assigned to the Special Response Team from 1998-2002. In May of 2023 I graduated from Northwestern University's School of Police Staff & Command.
