I am the COMMCEN Technician providing support to all UK units within NATO (SHAPE) on multiple systems both NATIONAL and NATO. I carry out daily accounting, auditing and security of Cryptographic material and equipment. Produce and coordinate CIS/IT request fulfilment or change within ITSM for hardware and software. Administration of accounts, including and assigning correct permissions to various specific folders and drives. I Provide Support to Security Officer on all CIS Security matters including virus handling and INFOSEC. I am also the LSA (Local Security Authority) carrying out maintenance, change management on classified Intelligence systems for UK NATIONAL element. During my time at SHAPE I have been selected for Promotion to Petty Officer.

My first draft after Promotion course, carrying out the role of Lead Infrastructure Engineer. Two years of working on two of the Royal Navy's Type45 destroyers, deploying with HMS DUNCAN to the Black Sea and Arabian Gulf and bringing HMS DIAMOND out of a Ship Maintenance Period and Sea Trials. Main role was to maintain OFFICAL Infrastructure services to the COMMAND and Ship's Company for over 250 personnel. I was also the administrator for the network ensuring CIS security through patches, backups and hotfixes. Main POC for all Ship's Company general IT enquiries and external authorities such as ATLAS, Fujitsu and AIRBUS. Daily running of Service Desk and training, mentoring and coaching of subordinates

During my Time at HMS COLLINGWOOD I developed a strong understanding of OMDR processes (Operate, Maintain, Diagnose and Repair). I also learnt about Health and Safety and work permits such as LOTO and Working at Height. The course covered topics such as RADAR and SONAR theories, Electronic principles, CCNA ICND networking and ITIL within Businesses. I also successfully obtained my NVQ L3 in Engineering Maintenance and CMI L3 in First Line Management (QCF).

My main responsibilities during my time on HMS DEFENDER were to operate and maintain communication circuits in HF/UHF/SAT COMMS. Basic IT Administration such as account creation, role allocation and daily maintenance checks. During my time on HMS DEFENDER I completed 2 back to back deployments to the ARABIAN GULF, which I was privileged enough to be selected for promotion to Leading Hand.
