Medical Research Consultant
CurrentIndependently review available research and conduct evidence analyses on a variety of medical procedures, tests, treatment modalities, and other topics relevant to Medicare policy and coverage. Design analysis plans, in collaboration with assigned project team members, including scope and key question development. Identify all available evidence including, but not limited to, published medical literature, claims data, practice guidelines, and interviews with subject matter experts. Analyze evidence including study quality, trial design, and strength. Provide documentation that clearly summarizes unbiased and objective findings. Develop and present conclusions and recommended actions to the project team members for consideration and discussion. Responsible for managing projects, including multiple research topics simultaneously while adhering to timeliness requirements per department procedures. Routinely interact with various levels of staff within the company, including the Contractor Medical Directors (CMDs), management, and other members of the Medical Policy team.
