With over four years of experience in molecular medicine, I am a data-driven and innovative Data Science enthusiast who is passionate about finding solutions to complex and challenging problems in the biomedical field. My PhD research at the University of Göttingen focused on HSPA4, a heat shock protein that plays a vital role in maintaining cardiac health and preventing cardiomyopathies. Using various techniques and tools, such as gene therapy, protein analysis, and visual data classification, I uncovered novel insights into the molecular mechanisms and functions of HSPA4 in the heart.In addition to my strong scientific background, I also have practical skills and knowledge in data science, thanks to the Data Science Bootcamp at neuefische GmbH, where I completed 540 hours of intensive training and a capstone project in collaboration with a team. During the program, I learned how to use Git, Unix, SQL, and Python to manage, analyze, and present data, as well as how to apply agile scrum methods and presentation skills to work effectively in a professional environment. My expertise extends to exploratory data analysis, data visualization, machine learning algorithms, evaluation metrics, and optimization techniques. I have hands-on experience in collaborative working, agile workflows, communication with stakeholders, and mentoring in machine learning engineering, including cloud and online dashboards. This comprehensive skill set allows me to bridge the gap between molecular biology and data science, providing a unique perspective and approach to biomedical research.I am proficient in English and German, with beginner-level skills in Dutch and Italian. My academic journey includes a Master of Science in Molecular Medicine from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology from BRS-University of Applied Sciences.
