Both my bachelor in International Relations and master in International Security & Human Rights at the University of Groningen where rather theoretical but versatile in nature. Combined with my field work, this academic (research) background enables me to analyze global affairs from a grassroots perspective and put geopolitical tensions in a broader perspective. In recent years, this knowledge has proven to be useful in my work as an advisor, as well as in panel discussions, lectures and media appearances dealing with contemporary African affairs.
