This internship project aimed to develop a three-dimensional (3D) PIC hydrogel tumour organoid model to mimic breast cancer invasion. During this internship, I familiarized with the culture of a small biotechnology company. I performed 3D cell culture with breast tumour organoids, worked with polyisocyanopeptide (PIC) hydrogel, and performed microscopy. Other aspects of this internship were lab discussions, result interpretation and analysis, writing of a thesis and performing oral presentations. I got graded 8.0 out of 10 for this internship.

In this project, I aimed to unravel the role of novel phosphorylation site NCC-S811 in regulation of the sodium chloride co-transporter (NCC). NCC is important in pathophysiology as it is linked to essential hypertension, which is a global health problem. This internship included lab discussions, writing of a thesis, result interpretation and analysis, and performing multiple presentations. Moreover, I familiarized with several biomedical laboratory techniques, such as molecular cloning, PCR, immunoblotting, cell culture work, transfection, immunoprecipitation and microscopy.I completed this internship, and got graded 8.5 out of 10. I also contributed as co-author to a publication, which you can read below if you are interested.

During this internship, I made a regression model that describes the relation between wind turbine size and carbon footprint, in onshore and offshore wind turbines. This regression model was derived from information in research articles. Hence, the main activities of this internship included reading and interpreting research articles, organizing and implementing data, writing a report and discussing with colleagues.I completed this internship, and I got graded an 8.0 out of 10.
