As the thermal design engineer for the first iteration of Eight Sleep's Pod Mattress system, I conducted design, modeling, and experimentation to develop a cutting-edge heating and cooling mattress product. My responsibilities included:- Design and optimizing the fluidic thermal engine to perform efficient heat transfer to the sleep environment.- Expertise in TEC/Peltier solid state heat pumps, complex modeling, experimentation, and component selection- Custom heat sink with copper heat tubes: design. CFD analysis, and validation- DFM and supplier management of multiple injection molded and custom formed components- Concept to market in just 15 months, development and implementation of factory processes, China.

As a freelance engineer, I've had the pleasure of undertaking some fun projects over the years, including:- Designing and implementing various moving obstacles for a Ninja Warrior course.- Designing and automating reactive features for a 4,000 sq. ft. haunted house.Currently, I focus my consulting work on hardware design, firmware development, IoT system architecture, team and product management, and technical due diligence.

As the Principal Design Engineer at Airmada, I led the development of our innovative ground station for automated landing, payload exchange, and takeoff of UAVs.- CAD design, manufacturing, & assembly of entire system- Actuator selection and implementation for multiple mechatronic systems- Microcontroller integration, firmware development, mechatronics control, system electronics. - Draft and manage patent applications for IP protection.
