I graduated as an MSc in acoustic engineering from the University of Salford, Manchester. Now I work as an acoustic engineer at Amptec, which specializes in overall solutions for the audiovisual sector. I mainly focus on room acoustics and preparation and validation of loudspeaker integration. Previously, I achieved a BSc and MSc in electromechanical engineering at the UCLL and University of Hasselt in Belgium. During my gap year between my studies in Belgium and Manchester I worked as an electromechanical engineer for PDM in the Netherlands.I spent 3,5 months in Togo (Africa) to complete my first Master thesis. This allowed me to experience a different culture and to improve my language skills. My second Master thesis was about singular spectrum analysis (SSA) in sound separation applications. This specific technique wasn’t yet used as a single-channel blind source separation tool during my thesis. The thesis proved the technique worked perfectly on less complicated signals and showed the potential on more complex scenarios. Finally, I was a member and head of the youth movement. Because of this experience, I developed skills like working in a team, organising events and looking for creative solutions. This was a big part of my life and now I still volunteer on their events.
