Architect Daan Roggeveen is founding partner and creative director at MORE Architecture, a multidisciplinary design firm with offices in Amsterdam and Shanghai.MORE has realised various projects in around Shanghai, including mixed use building Jiaxing Island, the headquarters for MINTH Group and leading art gallery BANK in Shanghai. Projects under construction include an iconic hotel in the mountains, a private museum on an island and a Manhattan-inspired showroom for elevators. MORE was included in the AD100, the list of 100 most influential design firms in China.With journalist Michiel Hulshof, Roggeveen initiated the Go West Project, a think-tank focusing on emerging megacities. They published the acclaimed book 'How the City Moved to Mr Sun – China’s New Megacities', and researched Chinese influence on African urbanization. Roggeveen's book 'Progress & Prosperity' discusses the current condition of the (Chinese) megacity and its shift from prosperity to progress. Most recently, Hulshof and Roggeveen published 'The Amsterdam Agenda - 12 Good Ideas for the Future of Cities'.Daan Roggeveen studied architecture at Delft University of Technology. He lectures at international universities (TU Delft, TU Berlin, Princeton, Columbia GSAPP, USC, Peking University) on a regular basis. He is an often-asked contributor to the debate about urban development in China.
