Organised a conference on post-conflict reconstruction and reconciliation in November 2012, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Dutch United Nations Student Association, with a team of five students. Experts on various post-conflict zones around the world attended. In addition, together with four other students I organised a project involving local youth from the city of Groningen, challenging them to think about the concept of peace in their own environment.

Kigali, Rwanda

As an intern, I worked mainly on private sector development and food security. I contributed to the setting up of a programme on countering chronic malnutrition among young children. This programme is the result of a collaboration between UN agencies, a range of NGO's, the government of Rwanda and the Netherlands Embassy. Furthermore, I advised the embassy on its communications policy in terms of social media and visibility of the wide range of its development programmes.

As a member of the CUOS, together with four other students, I worked directly for the Board of the University of Groningen. We were responsible for the allocation of approximately €1.500.000 in grants and the €400.000 subsidy budget. The CUOS also has an advisory role towards the Board of the University in matters of policy and finance concerning student facilities. In addition, I managed the Housing portfolio, allocating office space to student organizations on behalf of the university.

A full-time position in the board of the Dutch United Nations Student Association (DUNSA) in Groningen, which organises around 50 lectures, 3 large conferences and 2 international trips a year. Besides organizational tasks, I had the Public Relations portfolio.
