It used to be that you got an education, settled into a job and worked on the “plantation” of your choosing. Indeed, as a young man in Trinidad and Tobago, my chosen “plantation” was banking. One was disrupted by Hurricane Katrina and the other was stymied by the Great Depression. I got back in the financial industry in 2008, becoming a licensed life insurance agent in the State of Florida. The world has evolved, the internet is our platform, we date online, phones are used to text, tweet and post. Talking is too un-sexy for modern communications.
