Coming out of the pandemic, I was privileged to be asked to formalize the Public Health Transformation market offering within Deloitte's State/Local & Higher Ed sector. Building on my 17 years of experience providing strategic advice to hospitals, health systems, retailers, health technology companies, and other health-related organizations, I now lead the work that our teams are doing nationally to create a more resilient public health infrastructure. The focus of my work has always been at the intersection of people and their health. For many years, I led much of the research that we did on the role that consumers play in driving transformation of the industry by dint of their changing expectations, their increased agency, and their growing market power. This research was published in several channels including Deloitte Insights, the Center for Health Solutions, Modern Healthcare, and the Wall Street Journal. Two of the more important pieces which I have authored in the recent past include "Forces of Change: Future of Health" and "The Future of the Public's Health." My work seeks to provoke positive ecosystem changes that benefit society by catalyzing needed modernization, transformation and innovation in these critical arenas.I have a non-traditional background for the work that I do, and I encourage those with similarly diverse backgrounds to explore opportunities that allow for creativity to intersect in unexpected ways with tradition to create innovative solutions for how we accomplish the jobs to be done. I hold a Bachelor's and Masters of Fine Arts degree in Theatre and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance, Strategy and Quantitative Analysis.I serve on the Board of Trustees for my undergraduate alma mater, The University of California at Riverside, and I am a proud lifetime member of the Texas Exes where I received my MFA. I am also on the Alumni Board of Advisors for the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.I am fortunate to be able to remain deeply engaged in my community and have served on the Boards of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Children's Home of Pittsburgh, and I am currently the President of the Board of Directors of City Theatre in Pittsburgh.I live in Pittsburgh with my wife and two Belgian Malinois dogs, and I enjoy cycling in every free moment that I am able.
