I am Tech Lead for the Digital Platforms team at Deloitte Digital. I'm currently focusing on efficiency, automation, and cross-team collaboration as we grow the practice.

MyWave is a startup specialising in the intelligent assistant market. My role was to establish and manage the Operations, Internal IT and Support teams from a green fields starting point. Responsibilities included ensuring the Operations team work closely with other teams, managing computer geek interactions in general, making sure things get done I the right order, and making sure everything runs smoothly. I also designed the enterprise architecture of how overall systems would work, as well as designing and implementing a fully automated continuous deployment system where code changes could be automatically built, tested, packaged in Docker, then deployed through to production within a few minutes. A ChatOps setup was also put in place so that clients could self-support through interacting with a support bot in Slack, while the Operations team could run Ansible plays using a deployment bot. I fully designed and implemented all aspects of internal IT for the organisation, including selection, purchase and configuration of network equipment, implementation of a site to site VPN, a client VPN for remote staff, Active Directory design, Anti-Virus rollout, device configuration policies, Zendesk support portal, JIRA project management, Confluence wiki, Slack chat platform, and also migrated the entire company onto Google Suite.

Deloitte Digital enjoyed a rapid growth in supported projects over the period I managed the Support team. I was responsible for managing delivery of BAU Support & Maintenance to a number of clients, management of the after-hours on-call team, as well as working with project teams to ensure transition to Support was as smooth as possible. The team’s work included delivery of minor enhancements as well as consulting on infrastructure, monitoring, disaster recovery, DNS, and network configuration for clients. In conjunction with the above I was the Technical Account Manager for clients in government, superannuation, finance, and telecommunications industries.

My role was to be the primary contact point for all Support related activities, to manage vendors, provide systems administration expertise, and to develop processes around regular releases of updates to the portal.

Editure has moved to using ITIL. The system engineering team focus on problem management as well as well as doing bespoke work for customer Education Authorities. The team are based in Melbourne, Adelaide as well as the UK.

I ran the PC laboratory in the Old Engineering Building. Gained experience in Debian, Redhat, Solaris, DOS and Windows.
