I am a first-generation college graduate. I accomplished this while working to support my young and growing family. I have had my share of challenges to face, but they have shaped and molded me into the person I am today. My journey has taught me empathy towards others and that every person has their own struggles, although not always visible. My experience has taught me the following:- At any given point in life, we are either learning a lesson or teaching one. - Listen to what is being said, verbally and non-verbally. Listening is a skill that requires patience, respect, and knowing when to be quiet. - No one can do everything on their own. For that reason, give credit to those who deserve when it is due - share in the successes with the team and take responsibility for the failures to encourage personal development.- Stay curious. Learning does not stop at graduation; it is a life-long discipline that allows for personal growth.
