Medical Director for Empire's New York Medicaid plan (450,000 members) with primary responsibility for activities related to the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment program (DSRIP) and provider engagement. Develop strategy and programs to work with Performing Provider Systems (PPS) to achieve clinical improvement, care coordination and quality improvement goals. Design and serve as clinical contact with provider groups entering into shared savings or shared risk contracts. Serve as Medical Director for our Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plan. Chair local and national credentialing committee for Anthem's Medicaid programs. Serve as clinical lead for fraud and abuse investigations. Responsible for developing cost of care initiatives and serve on local compliance committee.

Oversee medical management for Medicare plans, including special needs plan for dual eligible (Medicare/Medicaid) beneficiaries. Manage case and disease management services and assure compliance with model of care provisions.

Programs included disease control, environmental health, Early Intervention, WIC (women, infant and children nutrition), Immunization, and public health laboratories. Responsible for establishing emergency response system for health agencies, establishing partnerships with community-based organizations and health care providers and other governmental agencies. Assisted in the establishment of Federally-Qualified Community Health Centers in Nassau County. Frequent contact with press, political leaders and community groups.

Responsible for surveillance and control of more than 50 communicable diseases and conditions, including all food-borne and water-borne diseases, arthropod-borne diseases and nosocomial outbreaks.
