Dado is an ensemble member at A Red Orchid Theatre, and her recent AROT production, Killing Game, by Eugene Ionesco, has material in it by the playwright that has never been seen before in the USA. This groundbreaking production fuses new music/contemporary music with absurd text. Her AROT production of Sam Shepard's Simpatico moved to the McCarter Theatre in 2017. In 2018, she starred as Karla Stock in the world premiere of AROT's production of TRAITOR, by Brett Neveu, directed by Michael Shannon. This adaptation of Ibsen's Enemy of the People won three Joseph Jefferson Awards. Dado is the recipient of the Edes Prize from the University of Chicago. With this award she produced the spectacle opera, David Lang's Pulitzer winning little match girl passion, at Facility Theatre, in a vacant middle school cafeteria, which sold out immediately. This piece is a chamber opera derived from the short story by Hans Christian Anderson of the same name. The project uses music, percussion, sculpture, movement and whole animal butchery. Dado also directed the Chicago premiere of Jen Silverman's Phoebe in Winter and The Ruse of Medusa, by Erik Satie, for Facility Theatre, where she is a resident director. Other plays dado has directed for A Red Orchid are The Mutilated (Tennessee Williams), A Red Handed Otter, (Ethan Lipton), The Hothouse (Harold Pinter), Megacosm (Brett Neveu) The Unseen (Craig Wright), among others. She has staged numerous experimental incubators at AROT, including Harold Pinter's Celebration, infused with live percussion and music by Mauricio Kagel. She holds an MFA from the University of Chicago in visual art. She has directed and acted at The Goodman, Steppenwolf, Famous Door, Shattered Globe, Mary Arrchie, TUTA, Trapdoor, Facility Theatre, among many others. Dado is also a Goodman Theatre Maggio director, and has won a Jeff Awards and an After Dark Award.
