I am the Founder & Managing Partner of PI IP LAW. The firm is one of the fastest growing IP law firms in Korea, having grown from 1 to 10 people within just one and a half years. In addition to my management duties, I remain involved in important cases and provide clients with services related to patent analytics.

As a stepping stone to establishing my own firm, I joined Park, Moon & Lee as a Partner. Here, I started to manage and expand my own clientele and prepared the opening of PI IP LAW. I also started to do some trademark work, including trademark license negotiations in Korea and China.

I was a member of the 3G LTE team, and worked mainly on patent cases of Qualcomm Inc. Other clients that I worked for included Siemens AG, Osram AG and Applied Materials Inc. From 2011, I also started attending business trips to the US and Europe. I was the first Associate Patent Attorney of the firm to be sent abroad for meetings with clients. On these trips, I gave presentations on the Korean IP system and current issues such as the Samsung vs Apple litigation. In August 2011, I became the team leader of the IP Analysis Team, which was temporarily set up to handle a patent analysis project for Samsung Electronics. Due to the success of this first project, Samsung Electronics assigned us three more patent analysis projects between 2011 and 2013.

I started my career as a patent attorney at Park, Kim & Partner, one of the main law firms handling patent cases from LG Electronics. I worked on patents relating to mobile handheld devices, 3GPP LTE standards, MPEG standards, digital televisions and other technical areas requiring a background in electronic engineering.
