I am an individual who is endlessly fascinated by learning and loves to figure out how the world works. I think it is incredible that we now have the ability to answer almost any question we can dream up because of the hard work of so many who came before us. And this is something that I feel is dangerously easy to take for granted. I always try to consciously remind myself that this is the same knowledge that the most profoundly brilliant minds of our past would have given almost anything to be able to learn, and here it is readily available with just a quick search.However the more you learn about our world the more you are exposed to the problems that we are still facing as both individuals and as a species. While our world has many inequalities that I hope to see solved, my biggest concern is in regard to our changing environments. The amount of suffering and loss of life that we will face if we fail to meet the challenges of climate change is almost too horrifying to imagine. However we are a clever and capable bunch who have collectively solved so many issues throughout our history. And I am optimistic that through hard work and careful forethought we can once again conquer the hurdles that are placed between us and a brighter future. For my part in this I am pursuing a Masters in Public Policy. My hope is to offer all the knowledge and skills that I have to help expand our understanding of what these environmental changes will mean for our world and offer effective policy solutions to mitigate and adapt these changes. I also spend my free time volunteering with the Citizens Climate Lobby which is a non-profit organization that aims to help build the political will for a livable world. Though this organization I am a volunteer congressional lobbyist and assist with outreach and education on both a grassroots and grass top level.
