To Whom It May Concern:Working as a Corpsman in the United States Navy facilitated the growth of healthcare, customer service and interpersonal skills. Rotating between the Postpartum ward, Emergency Room and Staff Education and Training Departments, I conducted thorough around-the-clock assessments of men, women, and newborns; administered medications, performed IV insertions and blood drawings; trained new personnel to the department; executed administrative and clerical duties, and maintained confidential medical records to the utmost standard. After exiting the United States Navy to complete an accredited Radiologic Technologist degree, I immediately went to work for the Sports Medicine Orthopedic Center (SMOC) which houses five prevalent orthopedic surgeons within the Hampton Roads area. There, I was responsible for all radiologic exams for the center, and my traditional film development skills elevated to levels of proficiency. My medical assisting skills were put to good use casting fractures, taking vital signs, and managing patient records. Working as a Clinical Instructor to local students of various radiologic programs was the most rewarding of my duties.A second position with the surgical outpatient facility, Bons Secours Ambulatory Center, helped me gain extensive experience within the surgical environment. Operating the C-arm machine, I became responsible for all fluoroscopic maneuvers to provide doctors with needed images to ensure a successful surgery. After eight months as a part-time employee, my performance secured full-time employment status in February 2012, and I remained there until December 2012 when the decision was made to return to California. My working knowledge and experience in Radiography, and innate ability to build a solid rapport with patients, making them feel secure while in my care, makes me confident that I can positively contribute to any Diagnostic Radiography Department.
