Initially hired as a Solution Architect, my duties were to determine B2B cloud customer's needs through sales channels and implement via design specs, prototype or actual software development. Liaison between customer's needs and engineering team for fulfillment. This directly resulted in sales of our white-label "Branded Cloud Marketplace" product offering. Project managed both the UI re-design effort using proper MVC architecture in Magento as well as PM'd the UI performance effort to reduce page load times from 10s to 2s.Leveraging 16 years of "startup experience" to guide operations and suggest improvements I was tapped by the existing CTO to replace his role and therefore promoted to Chief Technology Officer after six months (he continued on as a VP for engineering -- where his passion was). From that point, I implemented standardized VM development environments. Created deployment scripts & automation (including Jenkins). Converted from Microsoft's Team Foundation Server (TFS) to Atlassian Stash (Git) -- completing our ecosystem of JIRA tickets and Confluence Wiki. Documented various processes to streamline operations. Delegated tasks among a team of 55 developers in Chennai, India (through a chain of command). Continued to mentor junior developers. Additionally I reduced our monthly run-rate from $350,000 to $250,000. Hired for a 6 month contract and was offered full time position after only 1.5 months.Spearheading the huge task of re-architecting a 3 year old SaaS tool for back-end reporting of all In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) units in airplane seats. The previous site was written in Perl and Python and did not take advantage of the LAMP stack. Worked extensively with high-availability (master/slave/slave) multi-terrabyte databases including Oracle and MySQL; some tables had over 2 billion rows so we used Data Warehouses & Data Marts to formulate reports. Implemented an XML/JSON API to connect with other internal services.

I was hired as a Sr. Software Engineer for the Yousport.com social networking site. After only six weeks, I was promoted to Director of Technology/Architecture with four direct reports. I managed all aspects of the site, infrastructure, architecture, security, design, etc. This also included VMWare virtualization, Wiki and Subversion maintenance, and networking. I coded the LAMP stack using Symfony framework.Unfortunately the funding ran out and doors closed at the end of October, 2008.

I founded this company as employee #4. We were the market leader in NAC (Network Access Control). I was the GUI team lead and product development manager and built much of the original LAMP architecture and foundation. We used DBUS to communicate to a Ruby services layer to control hardware switches via SNMP traps. Created an XML API for both internal services as well as 3rd parties to utilize.I coded and maintained both our internal bug tracking system called "Roach" (found on sourceforge) as well as our CRM system named "CRiMson", where all appliances check into and were managed by.

While working at WildTangent, I continued to write product reviews for both the print and online versions of the magazine as well as the offshoot "MaximumLinux" which I was instrumental in creating.

I was hired to work as webmaster at "PC Gamer Magazine". Then Imagine Media started "boot magazine" which I was a founder (of 12 people on the team). I worked for two years till the magazine was depricated by "MaximumPC Magazine", at which time I left to start WildTangent, Inc.

ForteVR made the VFX1 Virtual Reality Headset. I did tech support and created their website. At this stage, websites were very rare and mostly privy to .edu and .gov accounts. Using Perl and CGI, I automated the registration process for customers and directly loaded them into our sales & support pipe-lines.
