Held many positions within Smiths, starting off in Engineering in the 1990 Graduate intake, before I left, the position I held was Global Commodity Manager – Corporate Key Aspects of Role:• Lead a strategic commodity team comprised of representatives from Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, etc. to solve strategic supply problems, gain cross-functional involvement and “buy-in” of solutions to satisfy customer needs.• Team leader for supplier Long Term Agreement negotiations and contract addendum’s.• Define metrics and baseline supplier performance to measure continuous supplier improvement.• Lead Purchasing personnel to assist in the development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
