The HARC Collective is an organization designed to increase community accessibility to art while providing student and local artists with an avenue to display their works. This project gives student-artists valuable business experience, the tools for further expression, and the ability to engage the broader Chapel Hill community. As Co-Founder, I have spearheaded the recruiting of artists by contacting them through campus organizations and connecting with major department heads. Additionally, I have been involved in real estate talks regarding event spaces as well as worked on a marketing campaign to increase turnout to our events. Currently, we are working with Orange County Arts Guild and Chapel Hill Art Commissioner to establish a partnership and a mentor/mentee program between students and adults in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro community. My partner and I were awarded the Bryan Fellowship, an APPLES Service Learning sponsored grant awarded to students interested in creating a local social impact. This involves weekly mentorship and the ability to work with other social initiatives in the community.Currently, we are working on the HARC Collective from a variety of standpoints. This includes explorations into pop-up dinners, fashion lines developed by my partner, and a potential expansion into the role of stationary in our history.
