After concluding my Bachelor in Landscape Design at the HAS University of Applied Sciences in Den Bosch I realized that there is more to a place than its infrastructure and spatial design. I felt the need to know more about the social aspects of development, too. Therefore, I continued to do the Master Development and Rural Innovation at Wageningen University. The master focuses on combining the technical and the social aspects of development projects, seeing as topics such as inequality, poverty and food security cannot only be solved with technical innovations. Social changes play a significant role as well. Something that is often neglected. By learning how to address the technical and social parts of development projects the Master allows me to create bridges between different actors and disciplines in the field. Having said so, I would like to find a job in which I can help build these bridges, connect people from different social groups and help to understand each other's needs. All with the goal of making development meaningful for all parties involved.
