This allows merchants and builders to competitively quote for the materials with accurate quantities and make cost saving suggestions to their customers whilst maintaining margins.

As a self build consultant I provided a unique service producing full, quantified lists of building material requirements, quotations and product guidance for individual projects. I successfully provided numerous self-builders, small builders and some developers solutions to areas unclear in the design drawings and suggest possible money saving options on the build process. creating a good working relationship with customers that come back for their next project needs.

I took time out to have a family and bring up my young children. during this time I spent time living in Palmdale California and Fort Worth Texas where I was instrumental in setting up a mother and toddler group and Expats news letter. together with keeping up to date on construction methods and learning advanced AutoCAD at Tarrant County College.

As Senior Building Surveyor I had responsible for the day to day running of the building maintenance program and planned maintenance of the whole college complex of four different campuses. Arrange and prepare specifications, including tender documentation and oversee new building and refurbishment works from conception to completion. Reporting back to the Estates Manager and attending financial meetings with the college’s Vice Principle. Consult with various departmental heads to ensure building works are completed on time and without too much disruption to the college’s schedule. Supervising trainees and CAD technicians, ensuring their work achieved required standards.
