Black Women United for Action (BWUFA) is a community service volunteer organization. Its professional volunteers offer rich and invaluable experience in community development for our outreach programs. BWUFA uses a "grassroots" hands-on educational approach to implement its programs.BWUFA's mission is to voice the needs of African-Americans, to heighten their achievements and to improve the lives of vulnerable families, especially women. In doing so, BWUFA seeks to provide citizens with a variety of community programs that assist them in obtaining and utilizing information on social, cultural and educational issues.

Retired from 28 years as a Senior Federal Government Information Systems, Computer Scientist, and Engineering IT manager (14 in USAF and 14 at DISA). As Project, Branch and Division Chiefs, my teams designed, integrated, deployed and sustained command and control, information technology and information assurance systems that are still implemented worldwide. Areas included cross domain solutions, network operations security, tactical information assurance and communications and situational awareness solutions.Routinely met and briefed senior managers across the Department of Defense, industry and throughout the Federal Government; established an internal “schoolhouse” with in-house courses and formal training for over 160 engineers for the Department of Defense; and won the National Outstanding Women of Color in Engineering for Government Education in 1998, Outstanding Technical Project of the Year in 2005, as well as other nominations.Chaired a Security Working Group for the Joint Staff Logistics community and participated in drafting the guidance to establish the Unified Cross Domain Management OfficeLed team that engineered the global STEP IA solution and improved cross domain solutions worldwide.Currently Major in USAF Reserves (inactive)
