The Office of Strategy, Innovation and Engagement (OSIE) serves as part of the Division Director’s executive function in connecting with the philanthropic community, faith-based groups and strategic partners that can add to the work of the Division, fund innovation and spread the agency’s message. At the local level, the OSIE will connect regional and county DFCS leadership to local nonprofits, faith-based groups and other entities that can support with service provision and community engagement. Additionally, the OSIE will serve as a hub and catalyst for supporting innovation within the Division. The role of the Deputy Division Director for Strategy, Innovation and Engagement is to:•Lead and supervise the OSIE team, as well as set the overall vision and strategy for the office’s efforts in alignment with the Division’s priorities.•Cultivate and nurture strategic relationships with foundations, nonprofit partners, faith-based and interfaith organizations, culturally specific groups, thought leaders and corporate entities to increase partnership, collaboration and innovation. •Develop, incubate and anchor special projects and initiatives in partnership with other DFCS sections and units.•Lead internal and external multidisciplinary engagement efforts and serve as Executive Sponsor of the State of Hope initiative.

• Founding leader of the Division’s first Office of Innovation focused on amplifying the creation, incubation, and piloting of innovative programs focused on human service innovation in child welfare supporting the 159 counties across Georgia. Developed and managed a team of six team members.• Cultivated and nurtured strategic partnerships with foundations, nonprofit partners, faith-based organizations, and corporate entities to increase collaboration and innovation in the child welfare space. • Designed and established the first of its kind community-focused initiative, the State of Hope, from concept to full statewide implementation. The State of Hope is a multi-disciplinary, public-private collective impact effort aimed at activating the power of all community sectors to support and/or initiate activities that build healthy children, families and communities.

• Identified and implemented innovative quality improvement strategies for 14 regions in 159 counties that led to creation of first of its kind federal C3 Initiatives coordinator position that connected data to community impact. Streamlined internal processes and policies across departments and managed a team of six across three departments. • Led the development of the C3 framework for the federal Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP), Child and Family Services Review (CFSR) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts to bring cohesion and consistency to change management efforts within the Division. This approach was recognized as a promising practice by federal partners.• Nurtured and shaped cross-functional partnerships with staff and federal partners that advanced quality improvement initiatives and strengthened organizational relationship with federal funders.

• Managed a $15 million annual operating budget for the Family Violence Division and supervised a team of four responsible for the provision of state and federal grant funding, technical assistance and capacity-building activities to organizations addressing domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking and trauma. Primary activities of the Family Violence Division included grantmaking, strategic initiatives, compliance monitoring and capacity building.• Directed the collaboration with over 50 grantee organizations, strategic partners and other community leaders to develop quality standards for domestic and sexual violence service practice.• Facilitated and led several multi-disciplinary collaborations aimed at expanding the quantity and quality of services and supports for individuals and families impacted by the domestic and sexual violence continuum. This includes the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Task Force which eventually expanded to become a larger human trafficking task force.

• Advanced the strategic provision of funding as the organization’s subject matter expert in domestic and sexual violence, trauma, human trafficking, and the intersection of these issues with child welfare and human services.• Conducted research on new and/or available funding streams and submitted proposals for the expansion of programming focused on domestic violence, sexual violence and the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC).• Directed the collection and analysis of data produced and submitted by grantee organizations and collaborative partners.

Greater Atlanta Area

• Consulted on a multi-year, federally funded youth development and HIV/AIDS prevention initiative which served female youth aged nine through 18.• Facilitated bi-monthly sessions with youth focused on HIV awareness and prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, and healthy relationships. The curriculum used was modeled after several research-based theories and evidence-based youth development modalities.

Provided behavioral intervention services for children, youth and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

• Directed and coordinated all fiscal and programmatic operations for Andre Butler Ministries – a national ministry with television and social media presence.• Developed and implemented strategies to develop and sustain a core donor base. • Collaborated with media and marketing partners to implement national projects and initiatives.
