I have over 25yrs experience working in Primary Care Health Informatics. My particular experience lies in the understanding and extraction of data from UK Primary Care systems.I have particular interests in Data Quality in Primary Care and was the lead technical author for the IM&T DES programme designing a tool used to examine the DQ in over 7,200 practices in England. I continue to work on data extraction specifications for national programmes including QoF Pilots, National Vaccination Monitoring programmes and other national audits including GRASP-AF, Diabetes, Asthma, Heart Failure and COPD. I also assist in the design of data entry templates for the Primary Care Clinical systems.Historically I have acted as a consultant to the HSCIC on the GPES project and also for the NHSIA on the GP2GP project. I have been involved in the preparation for the introduction of SNOMED-CT into UK Primary Care.Early in 2020 : - as part of the Faculty of Clinical Informatics team on a report for NHS-Digital looking at their GP Data for Health & Research Programme- also on the FLUCAT programme, a long running NIHR Pandemic Preparedness programme that has been mobilised in the management of COVID-19 to develop a triage tool for Primary Care in the "surge" phase- working as advisor to PHE and the National Immunisation Management Service on aspects of the 2020 Flu and COVID vaccination programmes- reviewing the SNOMED specification for the MIG (Medical Interoperability Gateway)
