MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA: ROLE OF SEARCH ENGINES IN ONLINE PIRACYThis was a study using clickstream data where users that engaged in piracy agreed to have their web activity tracked and recorded. The goal of the project was to gain insight into the frequency search engines were used in the illegal streaming and downloading of film and TV content. I analyzed the web surfing behaviors of Korean and Australian internet users and quantified how the users got to the piracy domains into specific categories (search engine, blog/café, social media, intermediary sites). My analyses were used by MPAA in their lobbying efforts to get search engines to remove piracy URLs.NETFLIX: NAPPILY EVER AFTER SCREEN TESTNetflix wanted to test their unreleased film, Nappily Ever After, to gather feedback from target audiences. SARI was hired to facilitate this research. I worked on every aspect of this project, which consisted of a film screening, exit survey, post-film focus group, and summary report that was used by the director to make final edits to the filmSARI: WEBSITE REDESIGN Screen Audience Research International wanted new brand assets and a website redesign. ONLINE TRADING ACADEMY (OTA): BARRIERS & TRIGGERS IN REGISTRATION FOCUS GROUPOTA was below target with attracting people to become members and having new members sign-up. They commissioned HOB to do interviews with key stakeholders and focus groups with people that attended their free half- day and full-day classes. I worked with my HOB team to find ways to increase their sign-up retention rate. These findings used to change their recruiting workshops and presented at their annual company summit.AUSTRALIAN EGGS ASSOCIATION (AEA): CREATIVE AD PRE-TESTThe AEA was planning to launch a nationwide TV ad campaign to attract more Australians to eat eggs. HOB was brought in to test their ad with a particular focus on variations of the ad that targeted different generations of consumers. I found Australian ads relevant to millennials and boomers and edited together “commercial breaks” that included the AEA’s ads. This video was then used during testing of the ad. I also helped create the survey that was used during testing, analyze the quantitative results, code the open-ended questions, and create the final report sent to the AEA. In the end, I helped AEA understand the efficacy of their ad variations with their target demographics. WOMEN’S CANCER FOUNDATION (WCF): BRAND AWARENESS AND ASSOCIATION SURVEYThe WCF was planning a merger with ANZGOG (Australia New Zealand Gynecological Oncology Group). They wanted to find out if donors and members cared about the merger, as well as their level of brand awareness for the other company and what imagery and women cancers they associated with each organization. HOB conducted a survey using WCF’s and ANZGOG’s database of members and donors. I took the survey results and created an easy to understand final report that was presented to both organizations.
