Education was always a strong pathway for me growing up because it meant a means for me to prosper and venture forth into the larger world. As a bi-racial black latina, I have learned tremendously by my experiences in education and through my local community. One of my strongest skill sets that I carry with me is facilitation. I have various work experiences in this field especially working with youth in group settings. Some of those experiences have brought to light the true meaning of community and how we prosper and grow with one another during moments of need and access.A leader to me is someone capable of making social change within their communities primarily by listening, speaking up and acting upon their words. I want others to view me as an aspiring mentor and community leader who sees their potential and perseverance through many adversities.
