About Daisuke Kimura
Mr. Daisuke Kimura currently serves as Director of the Management Board and Head of Global Education Research at GiFT, Japan, and adjunct lecturer at Meiji Gakuin University. He is engaged primarily in training and workshops for teachers and school leaders, as well as corporate citizens, to prepare for emerging business and education needs, including business creation with a focus on sustainability and human security. He also actively engages in policy consultation and researches on changes for the future of education.His research topic is the impact of "Transformative education" on learners' competencies, with a focus on Global Citizenship education and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). He has published "Advancing 21st century competencies in Asia", a joint publication with Professor Kai Ming Cheng from HKU. He has also written articles on newspaper about Global Citizenship Education and school reform for achieving peace and a sustainable world.As an educator, he has dedicated extensively for participatory teacher training, facilitation of SDGs workshops and PBL activities for students, and corporate training.Daisuke has been working to integrate transformative education into policy and school practices. He is an active member of global education platforms such as specialist representative for the UNESCO SDG 4.7 education conferences, and Global Citizenship Education Asia-Pacific Regional Network. He also controbutes various roles as a speaker/specialist member for the Innovative School Leadership for SDG 4.7 and Bett Asia Leadership Summit.
