I am a Code as a Second Language (CSL) Coordinator at the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is a national non-profit organization that was founded by the White House in 1988 to identify, inspire, promote and prepare Latina/o leaders through leadership, cultural, educational and workforce programs. Through CSL we have engaged various technology companies as well as internal Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) within said companies.Our CSL initiative is a national initiative that works toward introducing youth to computer programming through a series of programs. The initiative has grown to over 40 different markets nationwide and will be in over 75 schools. With this initiative, we have impacted over 5,000 students with the ultimate long term goal of diversifying the technology industry.

As a Judicial Intern, I was responsible for attending court processing’s and observing various cases while taking notes, enhancing multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced, dynamic and sensitive environment. I was given the opportunity to inquire about legal articles that bring about questions of why certain laws apply to particular cases. I assisted in the processing of cases in veterans court as well as distributed and organized required paperwork. Also served as a source of information and guidance when necessary to interns as well as assisting in sensitive cases and matters to ensure successful trials and interactions.

My main responsibilities as a Marketing Strategist included Planning, executing, monitoring company exhibition events that served to garner new users as well as secure company participation. I was responsible for communicating with partners and executive members of a variety of restaurants, while mobilized key community members for their participation in company-sponsored events. I learned to command a team during events while enhancing teamwork capabilities and ensure post-event satisfaction.I was also responsible for the management of 5 of my colleagues to ensure they were aware of their responsibilities on an event to event basis. I fostered and maintained client cultivation and preservation procedures. Created innovative promotional tactics and marketing strategies in order to increase exposure and partnerships. I acquired problem-solving skills and effective damage control skills such as effective communication and deliberation. Also gained knowledge of effective and innovative promotional tactics along with innovative marketing strategies. The work I did with this unique company enhanced public and professional interpersonal skills by serving as a liaison between the internal team and partnering businesses. Enhanced public speaking skills through marketing tasks and requirements.
